＜ハナゴンドウ＞

ハナゴンドウは日本列島太平洋側海域に生息する(Miyashita, 1993)と
ともに、東シナ海、日本海にも生息する(Kirishima, 1986)。

Miyashita (1993)によると、東経145°と148°の間の密度ギャップは
沖合系群と沿岸系群の境界であると考えられる。沿岸の範囲は北緯30°
以南で東経145°の西側と考えられる。沿岸系群の生息数は31,012頭
（CV＝0.21）と推定されている。

ハナゴンドウの低い水準での捕獲は太地で続けられ、1970年代中期
までは小型捕鯨で捕られていた可能性がある。

1991年の増加は太地沖での突きん棒漁、小型捕鯨、追込み漁による
ものであり（表12）、ハナゴンドウに対するこの操業は続くだろう。

＜Risso's dolphins＞

This species inhabits waters off the Pacific coast of Japan
(Miyashita, 1993), as well as the East China Sea and Sea of
Japan (Kirishima, 1986). Miyashita (1993) considered that
a density gap between 145°E and 148°E may represent a
boundary between offshore and coastal stocks, and
estimated the coastal range to be south of 30°N and west of
145°E. The abundance of the coastal stock was estimated at
31,012 (CV = 0.21).
A low level of harvest of this species continued off Taiji,
possibly by small-type whaling, until the middle 1970s. The
1991 increase was due to the catch off Taiji by the handharpoon
fishery, small-type whaling and driving (Table
12), which will continue to operate on this species.
