Equality Statement
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society operates internationally without prejudice towards race, colour, religious belief or any other consideration except for an impartial adherence to upholding international conservation law to protect endangered marine species and eco-systems.

環境保護団体・シーシェパードは、人種、肌の色、宗教や信仰の違いに偏見なく、公平な立場で、絶滅の危機に瀕した海洋生物・海洋エコシステム保全を目的に制定された国際自然保護法を駆使して、国際的に活動しています。

Those illegal operations that we oppose routinely attempt to accuse Sea Shepherd of being anti-Japanese, anti-Native American, or anti-Scandinavian etc, for our opposition to illegal whaling or the killing of dolphins. We are accused of being anti-Canadian or anti-African for opposing the slaughter of seals. We have been accused of being anti-Latino for opposing illegal South American shark finning operations.

我々、シーシェパードが違法に取引される海洋生物を保護する目的で継続的に行っている活動は、捕鯨やイルカの大量虐殺を阻止する立場をとっている為、「アンチ・日本」、「アンチ・ネイティブアメリカン」、または「アンチ・北欧人」等と非難されています。又、シーシェパードは毛皮目的で行われるアザラシ猟に抗議している為、「アンチ・カナダ人」や「アンチ・アフリカ人」とも呼ばれました。南アメリカで行われる違法なサメのフカヒレ猟では「アンチ・ラテン系民族」と非難されました。

Nothing could be further from the truth. We do not oppose Japanese or Norwegian whaling - we oppose illegal whaling as defined under international conservation law. We do not oppose Canadian or Namibian sealing, we oppose the killing of seals.
しかし、真実はこれらの非難とは全く異なります。
我々は、日本やノルウェーの捕鯨に抗議しているわけではないのです。
シーシェパードは、国際自然保護法で定義された「違法な捕鯨活動」に反対しています。
カナダやナミビアで行われるアザラシ猟に反対をしているわけではなく、アザラシを殺すことに抗議しているのです。我々は「人間の欲望を満たし、更なる豊かさを追求する」行為自体に疑問を抱いています。


The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society operates outside the petty cultural chauvinism of the human species. Our clients are whales, dolphins, seals, turtles, sea-birds and fish. We represent their interests.

環境団体・シーシェパードは、各々の社会で生み出され、時に悪利用されがちな「文化的愛国主義」にとらわれず活動しています。シーシェパードの焦点はクジラ、イルカ、海ガメ、海鳥や魚類の保全です。海洋生物がもたらす素晴らしさ、重要性を示すのが我々の役割でもあります。

Sea Shepherd volunteer crew come from all over the world including from the nations that we are forced to oppose like Japan, Norway, and Canada.

シーシェパードのボランティアは世界各国から集まっています。彼らの中には日本、ノルウェーやカナダなど、我々が止むを得なく抗議活動を行っている国々出身の者もいます。

We are not anti-any nationality or culture. We are pro-Ocean and we work in the interests of all life on Earth. We only oppose criminals and criminal operations.

シーシェパードは特定の国や文化を否定しているのではありません。
海洋エコシステム保全の為に、そして地球上の全ての命の為に活動しています。
我々は、法律に反する行為、犯罪にのみ抗議します。
