1990年、顕著な中央部の陥没に際したパラオ政府は、"LOUIS BERGER INTERNATIONAL INC." と国際協力機構（日本）から派遣されたチームによる安全テストを行い、「建設当時並びに現状では安全であるが、このままでは陥没が進行する」という結果が出たため、補強工事を選択した。（KBブリッジ：ウイキより）

A settlement of $18 million was reached last year in a suit in which the Palau Government and victims of the fall sued for about $100 million from the companies involved in the repairs of the bridge in 1996, which included Black Micro, VSL Pressing, Louis Berger, and others. VSL and its insurance company, Wintethur Swiss Insurance, which paid $10 million toward the settlement, have now filed a third-party complaint against companies which were involved in the first construction of the bridge, from 1975 to 1977.

1990年の補修工事での瑕疵で、訴状にLouis Berger, and othersとあるように、調査団長のLouis Berger 社T.Y.Linとその他（国際協力機構を指すと思われる）は、KBブリッジ補修工事に携わった会社と共に瑕疵を認め、和解に応じている。
