＞日本人は縄文人以来何百回というこのような災害と対峙してきた。
地震や津波だけじゃなく台風や噴火など。
それが日本人を団結させ強くし、和の精神を我々に植え付けてきた。
そして今の日本人を作った。何千年もかけて。

＞負けるな日本、頑張れ日本、立ち上がれ。
今こそ日本人としての意気を見せる時だと思う。

同意。
何かしたい。何かしなくちゃ。
と誰しも思っていると思います。
決して負けない。
我々には今回のような災厄を乗り越えてきた祖先の血が流れているんだもの。
近くは第二次世界大戦の廃墟の中から立ち上がった。

How instructive it is to see the amazingly brave, intelligent, calm and orderly response of the Japanese to this fearsome natural disaster.

japan and its people will, of course, recover from this disaster. what might be an interesting comparison is the speed and breadth of its recovery compared to new orleans after katrina. my feeling is that new orleans has still not recovered (infrastructure-wise) almost 6 years on; this will not be the case in japan. 頑張って日本！
