JAXA applies for recognition of Hayabusa flight as world records

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency said Tuesday it has asked the London-based Guinness World Records to recognize the Japanese space probe Hayabusa's flight to and from the asteroid Itokawa. The state-run space agency said it has applied to have Guinness recognize the asteroid explorer's first-ever round trip to a heavenly body other than the moon and also its round-trip flight over the longest period ever as world records.
