Toyota accused of delaying recall for 8 years

Toyota Motor has been hit by a criminal investigation over suspicions that officials delayed for eight years a safety recall report for a best-selling model that developed a steering fault.
The case, brought by Japanese police, deals a massive blow to the image of the world’s most profitable carmaker, which has had a stellar reputation for quality control and customer service.
