Even with its 32 percent sales decline, Toyota’s market share was 17.9 percent, up from 16.5 percent a year earlier.

Honda sold 71,031 vehicles, down from 98,511. Among its models, only the redesigned Fit hatchback and new Acura TSX posted gains from a year earlier.

Market share for Tokyo-based Honda was 10.8 percent, up from 9.4 percent in January 2008.

Nissan’s sales fell to 53,884 from 76,605 a year earlier. Still, the Tokyo-based company’s market share rose 0.9 point to 8.2 percent.

Toyota rose 4.5 percent to 3,010 yen, at the close of trading in Tokyo. Honda gained 6.3 percent to 2,190 yen in Tokyo, and Nissan rose 7.5 percent, to 288 yen.

Now Japan's economy has become weaker in terms of international tradings because of the booming currency value of Yen to Dollars.

But Won has dropped 31 percent against the dollar in the last 12 months, which gave Hyundai a great merit in trading between the US and Korea.

But according to that article, Won is the worst currency in Asia.

That's too bad!

I advise to you that you should not feel happy to read that article because it intends to show that Japan's car manufacuring companies have still kept more of the market share in the US than Korea's even if the dropping value of currency is giving the big advantage to Korea's.

You are a rustic, and from you narrow viewpoints, you think it is a good thing, but from the worldwide viewpoint, it shows Korea's economy is still weak, much weaker than Japan's, which has become one of the worst states after World War II.

That has proved that you can't read English.
