To nabla-san

Dear nabla-san,

The delay of President Jiang's visit to Japan had many reasons, it didn't have one or a few reasons only. Most Chinese people view that fact that Japanese could apologize to the Koreans but not us as an extremely hostile andunfriendly action. Some claimed that the issue was solved during Japanese emperor's last visit to China, however, he did not formally apologize. So the matter was not over yet. Well, you may not agree to what I said, but this is how most or all Chinese peoplethink, and I'm just telling you this. In fact, I also hope that this issue can be solved once and for all and let relations between China and Japan develop healthily.

Yes, Japanese people are truly incredible. It seems that whoever is stronger willbe respected, regardless of whether it is "good" or "evil." Sometimes it may be good because it pushes the people to always learn from the strong, and I think that Japanese people are very good at learning the strengths of other peoples and disgardingthe weaknesses. I guess that Japanese people are very proud that they can do this very well. However, this kind of attitude can also be bad. I read some news articles which said that this mentality is prevalent in schools. The strong will always "ijime"the weak (Sorry...I know the grammar if wrong...), and teachers think that it is "natural" that this happens and accept it. No matter how bad the "ijime-ed" gets hurt, nobody will think the strong is bad simply because he is the "strong". So, I guessthat people can understand how and what Japanese think by looking at just the schools. However, there must be exceptions but in general that is the usual phenomenon. Actually, this is complete opposite of what I have been taught since I was small, the"strong" must protect the "weak"; if you are strong and "ijime" the weak, everybody will laugh at you because "ijime-ing" the weak means that you can only "ijime" the weak. Also,in schools, no matter who is right or wrong, the weak will only always get thesupport of the people; So,..(laugh)...it is better to cry first after you get into a fight with another kid. Well...I think that this is very different from that in Japan. Anyway, this is quite interesting to know.
