Being considerate
Regardless of whether one is (ben-sheng) Taiwanese or Japanese, to think little of the Taiwanese people is a great disrespect. Although I'm not Taiwanese, my Taiwanese friends always tell me their feelings about what's going in Taiwan and thingslike that. I know that there is a portion of Taiwanese people who feel neutral towards Japan. However, I've had the experience of being "left out" because I was talking "too much" about Japanese pop culture. My Taiwanese friends thought that "I'm toomuch into things Japan" and were reluctant to respond to what I was saying. I immediately "picked up" the hint and switched to talk about American pop (which the whole world likes) instead. I have a Taiwanese friend who has a Japanese girlfriend but itturns out that he seems only willing to talk about Chinese, Korean (SES!), and American things with me. I think that this has to do with Taiwanese people's mixed feelings towards Japan. But in any case, respect is the most important. Also, I like Americanpop and Japanese pop too, but that doesn't mean I must admire those countries. Tokyo was bombed to the ground by America but that doesn't prevent Japanese people liking America.
Thank you for your link. In fact, I have that link in my "favouritesfolder" already. Anyhow, thank you for your caring to give me useful resources.
