With the inauguration of a new Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ)-led administration slated as early as mid-September, the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and other industry organizations are scrambling to establish a relationship with the DPJ. While the DPJ has pledged to eliminate corporate political donations in three years, financial circles apparently do not wish to see their influence on policy measures diminished following the regime change.
