The DPJ has indicated that after the election, it plans to form a coalition with the Social Democratic Party and People's New Party. If, however, the DPJ achieves a landslide victory and wins 320 seats or more, then it will have the power to push through bills on its own steam, even if the bills are rejected in the House of Councillors.
