アフガニスタンで攻撃再び

Explosions were reported near the Afghan city of Kandahar about 8:30 p.m. (noon EDT) in a second night of U.S.-led retaliation for the September 11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.

Earlier, John Negroponte, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said in a letter to the Security Council that the U.S. inquiry into terror attacks is in its early stages.

"We may find that our self-defense requires further actions with respect to other organizations and other states," Negroponte said.
