お返事ありがとうございます。私もアメリカ在住です。さっきは文字数の関係か私の文をいれて送れなかったので、今回送らせていただきます。
−前半略−
And thank you for sending me a letter from Arab-American community. It's really sad to hear that kind of news. Similar things seems to be happening here in Morgantown. I've heard that the Aribaba restaurant had been closed a couple of days under some threats of retaliation.
Today I read a message of an Indian-American man on message board and he said that he got several abusive languages and was spitted when he collapsed, inspite of the fact that he is an American and not even an Arab nor a Muslim. I understand people's pain but I think it's just not right. I knew that being minority in this country is sometimes very dangerous.
And I was really sad to see that people were saying "it's Second Pearl Harbor" on TV. Even a politician said that the attacker will experience Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was reported in Japan and some people are really upset. I'm not in a position to argue about that in but it just hurts me. I like my country, but sometimes I cannot bear the thought that people in U.S. and other Asian countries will never regard Japan as a true friend because of past history. I just hope this doesn't reheat hatred, and I also hope President Bush has reason not to create another Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
以上です。やっぱりnaiveだと思われるでしょうが、私は戦争が起こるまではあきらめずに反対の立場で行動していこうと思います。
