Resistance pounds Japanese occupation troops with rocket barrage.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired seven Grad rockets into the Japanese occupation troops’base in the southern Iraqi city of as-Samawah at about 7am Saturday, local time Mafkarat al-Islam reported. The correspondent, who witnessed the attack along with local towns people said that thick clouds of smoke rose over the Japanese base and four powerful secondary explosions went off inside the facility after the attack. As of the time of writing, the correspondent said in a report posted at 11:35am Mecca time Saturday, the Japanese occupation forces had made no announcement regarding casualties or losses

　 １９日午前１１：３５最終更新のイスラム・メモが報じた。

　 １９日朝７時、７発のグラーダ・ロケットがサマーワの日本軍基地を叩いた。住民と共に攻撃を目撃した本紙通信員は、攻撃の後に日本軍基地から厚い煙が昇り、４回の強い爆発音を耳にした。

　 一方、日本軍は未だにロケット攻撃による被害を発表していない。

イスラム・メモはこれまでに何回も日本軍へのロケット攻撃を報じてきたが、いずれも目撃者から聞いた二次情報であったが、今回は通信員が直接現場に居合わせたことに意味がある。その割には記事内容が表面的なことに疑問が残る。こちらが知りたいのは煙が上昇した後にどうなったかなのだ。何故現場に急行して詳細を伝えないのか？ 　 イラク全域で起きている事件からすれば、詳報するに値しない瑣事であろう事は分からぬでは無いが。
