イスラエル国民：ハマス幹部の暗殺作戦、７割が批判的

　 【エルサレム山科武司】イスラエル軍によるイスラム原理主義組織「ハマス」幹部の暗殺作戦について、イスラエル国民の７割近くが「中止すべき」と考えていることが、１３日分かった。

　 イスラエル紙イディオト・アハロノトの世論調査によると、ミサイル攻撃での暗殺作戦について、「一時的」または「完全」な中止を求める声は計６７％に上った。また、半数以上が暗殺作戦を「イスラエルの利益にかなわない」と否定的に見ているという。

　 さらに、新和平案「ロードマップ」遂行のためブッシュ米大統領がイスラエル政府に圧力をかけるべき、とする意見には７５パーセントが賛成した。

　 世論を見る限り、国民はイスラエル政府の対応に批判的だが、ハマスに対する攻撃は依然、続けられている。

Poll: Most Israelis want temporary halt to targeted hits

58 percent of Israelis believe that the killing of militants should be temporarily halted to give the new Palestinian prime minister, Mahmoud Abbas, time to establish himself in his position, according to a poll published Friday in Yediot Ahronot.

Last Friday, Hamas called off truce talks with Abbas.

Only nine percent of those questioned in the poll said they wanted the military strikes to stop altogether while 30 percent said they should continue.

The poll also showed that 67 percent of Israelis agree with recent statements by Sharon that Israel must end its occupation of Palestinian areas.

The survey, conducted by the Mina Tzemah/Dahaf polling company, questioned a representative sample of 501 Israelis this week and has a margin of error of 4.5 percent.

○いつ自爆テロに殺られる分らない――現地の緊迫した生活を思うと、あの状況でよくこれだけの精神力が維持できるものだと感心させられる。

○この強さがユダヤ史の〝醍醐味でもある。
