「イスラエルの父親たち」に平和を呼び掛けるメッセージを発表。

彼の息子は先日、ジェニンでハマスの軍事指導者とともに爆死した。

Terrorist's father sends 'message of peace' to Israeli fathers

In his message, Sabbagh urged Israelis to replace the right-wing government of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, saying, "You need to open a new page with the Palestinian people on the basis of justice and mutual respect." He said there is a need to address Israeli fathers "who care about the life and safety of their children."

He added: "I've already lost my younger son, Ala.
Now I have only one son, Muhammad, who is serving a three-life term sentence and an additional 30 years in an Israeli prison. As a heartbroken father, I send my message to all Israelis, children, elderly, and youth, and tell them, let's get rid of this corrupt junta, which has destroyed our lives. Let's work towards restoring the smile to our children."
Sabbagh called for an end to the bloodshed. "If we continue to ignore the calls for peace, the cycle of violence will continue and we will lose all our children," he said.

なお、先日のリクード党首選挙事務所襲撃テロの
犯人の父親が、自殺を図っていたことが判明。
イスラエル国内の工場に住み込んで働いていた父親が帰宅したところ、
国防軍が息子２人を逮捕し、家を破壊しているところだったという。
息子２人の行状に強く失望して自殺しようとしたが、
未遂に終わったとのこと。
