According to retired Israeli army Col. Gal Luft,
the goal of the campaign is to
"create a rift between the Lebanese population and Hezbollah supporters."
The message to Lebanon's elite, he said, is this:
"If you want your air conditioning to work and if you want to be able to
fly to Paris for shopping, you must pull your head out of the sand
and take action toward shutting down Hezbollah-land."
「退役イスラエル陸軍大佐ギャル Luft によれば、キャンペーンのゴールは
「レバノンの住民とヒズボラ支援者の間に断絶を作る」ことです。
レバノンのエリートへのメッセージはこれです、と彼が言いました：
「もしエアコンが効くのを望むなら、
もし買い物にパリに飛ぶことができることを望むなら、
砂から頭を引き抜いて、ヒズボラ・ランドを締め出す行動をとらなくては
なりません」

In other words, the Israelis have kidnapped the 3.8 million Lebanese
and are holding them all for ransom, while breaking their legs from time
to time to encourage prompt payment.
